Director Toby Ross brings us LIKE A MOTH TO A FLAME, his latest erotically charged thriller. Composed of three short films, In Our Darkest Moments mixes wry humor and tense drama, as it chronicles the sleazy exploits of a hunky closeted married man, as he cruises seedy bookstores and sex dens, beginning an affair with a dangerous teenager, unaware of the disastrous effects it will have on his life. In the Dark, Softly, directed by Joe Rubin and shot on 16mm film, has the visual ambiance of an art-house film crossed with the grittiness of exploitation cinema and is a love story of sorts, chronicling a young man's obsession with a local serial killer. Finally, in Deep, the police are at odds to catch a murderer preying on lonely men, who offs them with his extraordinarily large appendage, but maybe this killer is more than what he seems...
